Lilker joins IMEG, expands QC firm’s New York footprint

Lilker Associates Consulting Engineers of Manhattan has joined IMEG less than a month after the rapidly expanding Rock Island-based engineering firm merged with Long Island-based Cameron Engineering.

The move, IMEG said in a news release today, May 3, expands the firm’s footprint in the State of New York to more than 220 team members with full-service capabilities.

Founded in 1985, Lilker offers mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering design, as well as technology, lighting, special inspections, and energy and sustainability consulting services.

The firm serves clients from its offices in Manhattan, Long Island, and Washington D.C. metro area. It provides innovative solutions to clients in the aviation, commercial, cultural, education, healthcare, hospitality, residential, and workplace markets.

“We are excited to welcome Lilker to our team and deepen our bench of expertise in New York and D.C.,” IMEG President/CEO Paul VanDuyne said in a news release. “Their strong client focus and innovative technical skills are two vital characteristics that are consistent with IMEG’s priorities and will complement our full-service offerings as we continue to expand in New York State and along the East Coast.”

Lilker founder Bruce Lilker said his firm is excited to join IMEG and help drive continued growth in New York and surrounding regions, according to the IMEG news release.

“We built our reputation on our entrepreneurial spirit, cutting-edge technology, and engineering excellence as we serve our clients as a trusted resource,” Mr. Lilker said. “That fits well with IMEG’s approach, and presents exciting growth potential for our staff, clients, and teaming partners.”

Mr. Lilker and senior management will continue in leadership roles, overseeing team operations with existing Lilker staff. The firm will continue to operate out of its current offices, doing business as Lilker, an IMEG company, for the foreseeable future.

IMEG’s acquisition of Lilker and Cameron followed 2022 year-end acquisitions of the Schmidt Consulting Group, Inc., and Bruce E. Brooks & Associates. In December, IMEG also acquired Barker Structural, a San Antonio and Las Vegas-based structural engineering firm.

IMEG is a leading U.S.-based engineering design firm delivering broad expertise of a national leader with the personal relationships and deep collaboration of a local firm.

The firm said it is 100% employee-owned and results-driven with a passion for transforming environments and communities through high-performance design and infrastructure. With 80 offices and 2,400 team members, IMEG serves regions and markets with full-service, in-house engineering design.
