IMEG acquires New York engineering and planning firm

The Quad Cities-based IMEG Corp. recently announced that the engineering and planning firm Cameron Engineering & Associates out of New York has joined the IMEG team, creating two new firm locations with more than 100 team members in the State of New York.

Founded in 1985, Cameron Engineering & Associates is comprised of civil, environmental, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers, as well as landscape architects and planners, according to a news release. It is dedicated to providing sustainable planning and design services in the commercial, education, life sciences, healthcare, mixed use, municipal, sports and workplace markets, the IMEG news release said.

“We are excited to continue our East Coast expansion and add Cameron Engineering & Associates to our team,” said IMEG President/CEO Paul VanDuyne. “Their full-service capabilities and market sector expertise align perfectly with IMEG, allowing us to serve more clients as a New York corporation.”

Cameron Engineering founder John Cameron said the firm is excited to become part of IMEG and help establish its New York presence. “The merger provides sustainability and growth potential for all our employees as well as our clients and teaming partners,” he said in the news release. “IMEG’s size and expertise also allows us to expand upon the innovative approaches and results-driven solutions we deliver to our clients.”

Mr. Cameron, and partner Joe Amato, will continue to oversee regional operations with existing Cameron leadership while operating out of its current offices, doing business as Cameron Engineering, an IMEG company, IMEG said.

IMEG’s acquisition of Cameron comes on the heels of its 2022 year-end acquisitions of the Schmidt Consulting Group, Inc., and Bruce E. Brooks & Associates. In December, IMEG also acquired Barker Structural, a San Antonio and Las Vegas-based structural engineering firm.
