LECLAIRE – A new Culver’s fast food restaurant in this community is getting set for its grand opening.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at the new Culvers, located at 949 Mississippi View Court. The doors will open for business at 10 a.m. Aug. 10.
The first 50 purchases on grand opening day will each receive a surprise prize. Prizes include free custard for a year, Culver’s gift cards, Culver’s merchandise, and more, according to company officials.

The site of the new Culver’s is a former Ascentra Credit Union location that closed several years ago. The site is on the south edge of town near Interstate 80, on a hill overlooking the Mississippi River and next to an empty lot that was once Steventon’s restaurant.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Culver’s was held March 11.
“It’s great to see some new construction here. … We really need some new restaurants,” said Rob Danielson, president of the newly combined LeClaire Chamber of Commerce and LeClaire Marketing Alliance, during that March ceremony.
Here are some details on the new Culver’s:
- Building size: About 4,500 square feet.
- General contractor: McCON Building Corp. of Highland, Wis. McCON officials said the company has been involved in many Culver’s projects, building about 250 new restaurants and remodeling more than 300 Culver’s buildings.
- Employees: The new Culver’s will have about 100 employees.
- Owners: Jordan Pencil and Mike Jones
- Cost: The owners would not disclose the investment in the project. However, the lot and former credit union building on the site were sold for $925,000, according to property records.
Culver’s, which has its headquarters in Prairie du Sac, Wis., has more than 1,050 locations in 26 states.
