Bettendorf Rotary accepting grants from nonprofits

The Rotary Club of Bettendorf now is accepting applications for grants of up to $10,000 from qualified nonprofit organizations in the Quad Cities area.

The club’s grants committee typically accepts applications once a year. However, due to the overwhelming success of its annual Lobsterfest fundraiser in June, the club is able to provide another opportunity for not-for-profit organizations to submit applications.

Previous grantees are encouraged to apply, as well as those who have not received a grant previously. Requested amounts should be very close to, but not exceeding, $10,000.

“We are very pleased to be able to send this money back into the community to help organizations making life better for others,” Bettendorf Rotary President Joe Campion, also a grants committee member, said in a news release. “The community has been so supportive of our Lobsterfest event.  That generosity has made this possible.”

The deadline for grant applications is Friday, April 19. Applications are available on the Bettendorf Rotary here. Or contact Carol Foster, chair of the grants committee, at carolfoster@empoweringabilities.org.

Grants are not awarded to groups for annual fundraising, organizational endowments, deficit financing, grants to individuals, scholarship funds, political groups or activities, Rotarians and their families, or for sectarian purposes.

Chartered on May 22, 1957, the Bettendorf Rotary Club meets at noon every Wednesday at the Tanglewood Pavilion, 4250 Middle Road. To learn more, visit www.bettendorfrotary.com.
