With some inventory at critical levels, ImpactLife seeks donors

blood shortage ImpactLife blood donors

ImpactLife has issued a call for blood donors and is warning that inventory levels for type O-positive and O-negative red blood cells are approaching critical levels.

In addition to confronting a two-and-a-half day supply of type O-positive and O-negative red blood cells, platelet donations from all blood types are also greatly needed, the organization said in a news release.

It is looking to increase appointment schedules and improve the region’s blood supply in the week ahead by reminding potential local donors that they can receive their choice of these incentives when scheduling an appointment to give blood during the month of March.

  • An electronic gift card.
  • Bonus points to use in the ImpactLife Donor Rewards Store
  • An equivalent value donation to support reforestation efforts by the National Forest Foundation.
  • All First-Time Donors also will receive a special bonus $25 e-gift card when they register to donate for their first time with ImpactLife.

To donate to ImpactLife

To schedule an blood donation appointment call (800) 747-5401, schedule online at www.bloodcenter.org or via the organization’s mobile app www.bloodcenter.org/app.

When you donate blood products, ImpactLife said in the release, you are investing in healthy communities for today and for future generations. Planting trees does the same for national parks, ensuring that our forests can continue to provide wildlife habitat, clean drinking water, and places for us to gather together.
