Muscatine Senior Center hosts open house, craft fair Oct. 11

MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine Senior Center, a new program for active aging seniors, invites the community to its open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11, at Musserville Church, 1001 Oregon St.

This event offers a chance for Muscatine County seniors, their families, and community members to explore the center’s programs and resources. The open house is free and open to the public.

The Muscatine Senior Center opened in May as a collaborative effort between Senior Resources and dedicated community volunteers. It is designed to foster engagement, wellness, and social connection for seniors over 60.

The center is open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  and offers a variety of activities catering to the interests and needs of active seniors. Attendees at the open house can sample activities such as cardio drumming, chair flexibility exercises, and fun Wii games.

In addition, representatives from local organizations will be on hand offering valuable resources and information for actively aging seniors.

“The Muscatine Senior Center is a place where seniors can connect, stay active, and enjoy a wide range of programs designed just for us,” said Ed Lampe. “We encourage everyone to join us at the open house to experience the center and learn more about how the center can enrich the lives of local seniors.”
