An updated Chick-Fil-A fast food restaurant in Davenport is expected to reopen in late July, according to company officials.

The Chick-Fil-A at 2945 E. 53rd St. has been closed since April 10 for an extensive remodel.

“The remodel will prepare us to better serve you in the future. We will be getting a completely new kitchen and an updated drive thru. We were not built to do the volume you have so generously provided us. Our new equipment and layout will allow us to serve you better and grow,” according to information from the company this spring.

An April 24 post on the Chick-Fil-A Facebook page stated: “It (the remodeling work) has begun. One of the only things staying is our Playland, which will be updated and have a new floor.”

In recent weeks, Chick-Fil-A officials have been providing updates on the remodeling project on its Facebook page.

In some of those recent posts company officials have outlined progress being made with framing work, new vent hoods for the kitchen, a new front counter and other projects.

Chick-Fil-A is also looking for employees. The company has scheduled a “Hiring Party” from  noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, July 4-5, at the Hilton Garden Inn, 959 Middle Road, Bettendorf.

Some of the positions available include customer service team members, kitchen team, prep team, shift leader and training leader. Company benefits include college tuition money, a $500 grant for college and free gym membership.

Chick-Fil-A has more than 2,700 restaurants in 27 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and Canada. The family-owned and privately held restaurant company was founded in 1967 by S. Truett Cathy.
