One of the more popular fast-food restaurants in the Quad Cities is closing soon for an extensive remodeling. Chick-Fil-A Davenport — at 2945 East 53rd St. — will close its doors at 9 p.m. Thursday, April 20, for a remodeling project.

The restaurant is expected to be closed for several months.

The remodel will prepare us to better serve you in the future. We will be getting a completely new kitchen and an updated drive thru,” according to a post on the Chick-Fil-A Facebook page.

The Facebook post adds: “We were not built to do the volume you have so generously provided us. Our new equipment and layout will allow us to serve you better and grow.”

Since the company announced the closure on April 11, numerous online comments have been posted. Some comments include:

  • Hurry back! And maybe open another location in Bettendorf!
  • Glad they were forward thinking and thought to include one last holiday before the remodel.
  • Congratulations on your growth, and thank you for making it better.
  • This is God telling me I need to go on a diet.

Chick-Fil-A also has locations in the food court of NorthPark Mall, Davenport, and at 3831 41st Ave. Drive, Moline.
