The local pizza restaurant announced in December that it would open at 2297 Falcon Ave. – the former site of Ross’ Family Restaurant. Ross’ – an iconic Quad Cities restaurant for decades – closed on Feb. 12, 2024.
The restaurant had been going through a transition in the months before it closed. On Nov. 2, 2023, Cynthia L. (Ross) Freidhof, 72, one of its owners, died.
Ms. Freidhof and her husband, Ron, were co-owners of Ross’ Restaurant, which has been at 2297 Falcon Ave. since 2015. Not long before Ms. Freidhof’s death, the couple announced plans to retire and close the current business location after owning Ross’ for decades. The 85-year-old restaurant was founded by Ms. Freidhof’s father, Harold Ross, in 1938 in downtown Bettendorf.
