Tony’s Chicago Style Pizzeria restaurant is coming to Bettendorf.
The local pizza restaurant recently announced plans to open at 2297 Falcon Ave. – the former site of Ross’ Family Restaurant. Ross’, an iconic Quad Cities restaurant for decades, closed for business on Feb. 12, 2024.
Tony’s, which also has a restaurant in downtown Moline at 1321 Fifth Ave., is expected to open its new Bettendorf location in late January. The business is currently hiring employees for the new restaurant, according to an announcement on Tony’s Facebook page.
“We are excited to announce we are opening a second location. … There is much to do before we will be ready to welcome you but we are hoping to be ready by the end of January,” the Dec. 17 Facebook post said.
Other posts indicated that Tony’s is looking for employees for the Bettendorf site, including servers, bartenders, cooks, food walkers and more.
Employees at Tony’s Pizzeria in Moline on Thursday said they were unable to provide more information on the new restaurant.
However, the former Ross’ Family Restaurant site in Bettendorf appears to be well on its way to a new restaurant life. As of this week, the Ross’ signs were off the building, replaced by Tony’s signs. The front of the building has a sign that states “Tony’s Chicago Pizza & Breakfast.” Also, the large sign in front of the building’s parking lot – that once read “Ross’ 24 HR Restaurant” – now stated “Tony’s Restaurant.”
Tony’s offers Chicago-style, thick-crust pizza as well as Italian beef sandwiches, Chicago hot dogs, salads, dessert and much more. The Moline restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Hours for the Bettendorf operation were not available.
