Augustana College has announced that Dr. Andrea Talentino will become the ninth president of the Rock Island college. Ms. Talentino, the provost of Nazareth College of Rochester, New York, will replace Steve Bahls who will retire next summer. He has served as president since October 2003.
Augustana announced the new leadership at a news conference this morning on campus. She will join the college July 1, 2022.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Ms. Talentino has been provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at Nazareth College since March of 2017. From July 2012 to February 2017 she was dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont. From 2005 to 2012, she was associate professor and associate dean at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, and from July 1999 to May 2005, she was an assistant professor at Tulane University in New Orleans.
