Sean Connell takes the helm of Air Control in Clinton

CLINTON, Iowa – Air Control Inc. (ACI), a certified woman-owned small business based in this community, recently announced that its board of directors has promoted Sean Connell to president of the company.

Former ACI President and CEO Mary Connell will continue to serve as CEO, the company announced in a news release Friday, Jan. 31.

Ms. Connell has been with Air Control Inc. for more than four decades, with 37 years as president and CEO. During that time, she played an integral role in the growth and development of the company, founded by her father, Vern Witt, in 1956.

Reflecting on the transition, she  expressed her excitement and pride in seeing her son take on this leadership role. 

“After serving as Air Control, Inc.’s president for the past 37 years, I am pleased to announce the future presidency of Sean Connell,” she said. “Sean has been employed at ACI since 2003, becoming an owner in 2014 and promoted to vice president in 2017. Sean has worked extremely hard to improve the company and live out our core mission of ensuring the stability and care of our employees, customers, and community. His grandfather would be extremely proud, as am I.”

Mr. Connell shares her passion for the future of ACI and reflected on his journey within the company: “I’ve had the great honor to grow up around this family business, surrounded by some of the most talented craftsmen and business professionals. I  look forward to carrying on our tradition of service by putting our customers and employees first. I plan to lead in a manner that everyone can respect and promote the ACI name as a legacy company focused on quality and service to others.”

With Mr. Connell’s promotion, Air Control Inc. continues to employ 35 full-time professionals specializing in heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) in residential, commercial and industrial markets, as well metal fabrication for various industries, and government contracting.
