WALCOTT – Delia Moon Meier has been named president and CEO of the Iowa 80 Group and CAT Scale Company, Inc., effective immediately, according to a news release made available on Wednesday afternoon, July 22.
The leadership change was approved by the boards of directors of both companies.
Ms. Moon Meier succeeds her brother, Will Moon, whose visionary leadership helped establish Iowa 80 Group and CAT Scale Company as industry leaders and trusted names in the trucking industry throughout North America. Mr. Moon died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 16.
The boards expressed their deepest gratitude for Mr. Moon’s contributions and the enduring legacy he leaves behind. The siblings have been the second generation leaders of the world’s largest truckstop, founded by their parents, the late Bill and Carolyn Moon. The family business also now has the third generation represented.
Ms. Moon Meier has been an integral part of the Iowa 80 Group family of companies for many years, serving as senior vice president of both Iowa 80 Group, Inc. and CAT Scale Company for more than 30 years. She has worked closely with her brother to help guide the organization’s continued growth and success. Her deep understanding of the companies’ operations, culture, and long-term strategic vision makes her uniquely qualified to lead the organizations into their next chapter, according to the news release.

Upon accepting the appointment, Ms. Moon Meier said: “I am deeply honored by the confidence the boards have placed in me. Ms. Moon Meier, a Walcott native, is a graduate of Davenport West High School and resides in Eldridge. She earned a BBA in management from the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business and is active in the industry’s professional organizations.
The two company’s boards emphasized that the companies remain financially strong, operationally sound, and committed to providing the exceptional service and innovation that customers have come to expect. Day-to-day operations will continue without interruption, and the leadership team remains focused on executing the long-term strategic plans established by the companies.
