Quad Cities area military retirees from all service branches and their families are invited to the annual Military Retiree Appreciation Day going on Saturday, Oct. 14, on the Rock Island Arsenal.
Signs will direct attendees to the event, which will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Heritage Hall, Building 60. Free registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the opening ceremony beginning at 8 a.m.
Military Retiree Appreciation Days offer up-to-date information for retirees and their families, according to a news release. The annual event includes presentations from the Rock Island Commissary, Rock Island Exchange, Tricare, Rock Island National Cemetery, Iowa City VA Health Care System, Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), the Social Security Office, Honor Flight of the Quad Cities and more. Â
This year’s keynote speaker is MOAA Financial & Benefits Education/Counseling Program Director Lila Quintiliani. The American Legion Auxiliary, Post 26, Davenport, will serve light refreshments.
