Prepare for year ahead with YWCA’s EmpowerHer event

The YWCA’s Yes SHE Can series is hosting an EmpowerHer 2024 event on Wednesday, Jan. 31, to help women tackle challenges in the new year. 

EmpowerHer 2024: A Year for Reawakening & Transformation is open to Yes SHE Can Series members and nonmembers alike.

The evening program will begin at 5 p.m. with Cocktails & Connections followed by the program at 5:30 p.m. It will be held at the new YWCA Iowa Empowerment Center at 1115 Mississippi Ave., Davenport. 

With the help of two guest speakers, Ayla Bedford, owner of Living Yoga QC, and Jessie Adams, a nationally recognized health fitness coach and founder of BelieveinU Fitness, participants will discover this is their moment for a true transformative rebound and work to  navigate 2024 with a purpose. 

“I am so excited to launch the 2024 season of the Yes SHE Can Series and this event is the perfect way to do it,” said Deanna Woodall, the YWCA’s vice president of development and empowerment services. “Jessie and Ayla are going to have an informative and engaging presentation that I, myself, am greatly looking forward to.”

Here’s a closer look at the speakers: 

  • Ayla Bedford takes pride in being the owner of Living Yoga QC, a thriving wellness hub in Davenport. Her personal journey from battling depression and addiction to embracing the transformative power of yoga and spirituality is truly inspiring.
  • Jessie Adams is known nationally as the “MindFit Expert.” She specializes in helping people who’ve struggled with weight loss in the past transform their bodies through mindset and peak performance coaching in order to have the body and mind they’ve always desired and live a life they love and truly deserve. She has more than 20 years experience and expertise in the fitness industry including founding BelieveinU Fitness.

The EmpowerHer event is free for Yes SHE Can Series members and $10 for nonmembers. To register, visit here
