The latest episode of “John McGivern’s Main Streets” program will take viewers on a tour of the City of Davenport.
The PBS show documents the people, places and traditions of unique towns across the Midwest. And it explores the unique charm that makes each community special.
Mr. McGivern, a six-time Emmy award-winning actor, hosts the PBS series. His cohost is the Emmy award-winning former host of “Discover Wisconsin,” Emmy Fink. Each episode features lively interviews with residents and civic leaders.
The Davenport episode is scheduled to air on PBS Wisconsin at 7 p.m. tonight, Jan. 25. It will be available for free on PBS Wisconsin’s YouTube page and the PBS app.
It was shot last summer when Mr. McGivern and Ms. Fink explored Davenport mainstays. They included Palmer College of Chiropractic, Taste of Ethiopia, Figge Art Museum, Common Chord and Isabel Bloom.
“Anytime the authenticity of the Quad Cities is showcased outside of the market is a win for our whole community,” Katrina Keuning, Visit Quad Cities’ director of brand and content strategy, said in a news release today. “The visibility that comes from productions like Main Streets proves to be incredibly valuable as we continue to attract more visitors, promote tourism and enhance resident pride.”
“John McGivern’s Main Streets” is filmed and produced by Milwaukee-based Plum Media.
This marks the latest visit the show has made to the Quad Cities region. In 2022, it aired an episode on LeClaire. It was celebrated with a preview party attended by Mr. McGivern and LeClaire community and business leaders.
