Bettendorf’s newest restaurant is an “awesome culinary experience” that offers a great atmosphere to foodies around the region.
That’s the word from Bettendorf Mayor Bob Gallagher as he welcomed that new restaurant – Plus Saporis Mediterranean Latin Cuisine – to the community on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
“Thank you for investing in the Quad Cities and Bettendorf. … This is an awesome culinary experience,” Mr. Gallagher said during a Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony that drew about 35 members of the business community and restaurant staff.
Plus Saporis, located at 4808 Forest Grove Drive, is also one of the newest additions to The Plex area of northern Bettendorf. The restaurant is next door to the Swirl Wine Bar.
The growing section of the city has dozens of businesses located around the TBK Bank Sports Complex. (Some of those new or in-the-works businesses include a new $18 million SpringHill Suites by Marriott now under construction, Iron Tee Golf, and ORA, which is building s new $50 million state-of-the-art clinic and outpatient surgery center as well as many other businesses.)
The new restaurant actually opened its doors to foodies on July 24 and has about 30 employees. Since then, restaurant leaders say the reception has been great.
“It’s been very good. There has been a great response from the community. … It’s been super nice,” said Aman Razdan, owner and executive chef of Plus Saporis.
Mr. Razdan is a longtime business owner and chef in the Quad Cities region. Some of his other ventures have included being owner and chef at the Hemispheres Bistro and executive chef at the former Red Crow Grille, both in Bettendorf.
He called his latest restaurant adventure a “very exciting” process. Part of that process was putting together a menu that helps create an “awesome culinary experience” for the diner.
