A veterinary clinic in Davenport will temporarily close so it can move its new, bigger facility along bustling 53rd Street.
Kimberly Crest Veterinary Hospital & Specialty Services, now at 1423 E. Kimberly Road, will close for business at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 7, in order to move to its new facility at 1301 E. 53rd St.
When the business reopens at its new home on Monday, June 10, it will also have a new name: Creekside Veterinary Hospital & Referral Center.
Kimberly Crest staff sent out an email to its customers recently informing them of the changes. Also, Kimberly Crest will not be open for business on Saturday, June 8, because of the upcoming move. The Quad City Animal Emergency Center will be open on June 8 for pet owners who have a medical emergency during this time. It can be reached at (563) 344-9599.
“We are in the homestretch for the move to our new facility. … We are trying to have a rapid transition from one facility to another,” the email said.
The new 13,000-square-foot building is currently under construction near the intersection of 53rd Street and Eastern Avenue. Construction began last year. It is being built by RWE Design Build, based in Downers Grove, Illinois.
“The new facility is going to allow us to be able to accommodate more patients. We are currently being limited by space. We will continue our current services, and will plan to add services in the future,” Dr. Laura A. Bahns, a veterinarian and owner of Kimberly Crest since January 2021, told the QCBJ last year.
The cost of the new facility has not been disclosed.
Kimberly Crest Veterinary Hospital –soon to be known as Creekside Veterinary Hospital & Referral Center – offers a wide range of veterinary services for pets including:
- Pet wellness and vaccination programs to prevent illnesses.
- Animal medical services for diagnosing and treating health conditions.
- Pet surgery including spay and neuter.
- Pet dental cleanings and treatment to avoid serious dental diseases.
It is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
