The indoor golfing season starts today, May 14. That’s because the Iron Tee Golf entertainment facility opens at 5:30 p.m. today at 6909 Iron Tee Way, Bettendorf, near the TBK Bank Sports Complex.
The long-awaited sports amenity will open its doors following a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5 p.m. today.
“We’re thrilled to bring top-tier entertainment to our community with the latest technology. Picture this: precision tracking that’ll make your golf game feel like pro play, fun for all ages with a variety of games, and a place where over 1,200 people can gather, eat, drink, and tee off. We’re more than just a golfing destination; we’re a hub for smiles, swings, and good times,” according to the Iron Tee Facebook page.
Iron Tee, the latest addition to the TBK Bank Sports Complex, was founded by Ryan Hintze, the owner/operator of Corn Belt Capital.
Even though the grand opening is today, the $35 million, 61,000-square-foot Iron Tee had a soft opening on Monday for guests, its Facebook page said.
Some of the features visitors will find in the new Iron Tee facility include:
- Golf bays: Much of the facility centers around a state-of-the-art, temperature-controlled driving range with 58 bays that can hold six players per bay. (There will be 14 bays on the first floor, and 22 each on the second and third floors.) The facility also will be equipped with Trackman Technology for golf ball tracking and a variety of interactive target greens. Golf equipment rental is available.
- Other entertainment: Not a golf fan? The Iron Tee will have many other activities for the family, including a mini golf arcade.
- Event space: There will be space and bar areas for company events and private parties.
- Restaurant: The Iron Tee Golf facility has a full-service restaurant.
- Many TVs: Guests will find more than 160 large-screen TVs throughout Iron Tee.
- Workforce: Iron Tee will boast about 150 employees.
In addition to the Iron Tee’s grand opening, The Plex area is getting set for another new business. A groundbreaking ceremony also is set for 3 p.m. today, May 14, for the new SpringHill Suites by Marriott. The Frontier Hospitality Group’s hotel will be built at 5235 Competition Drive.
