The new Iron Tee Golf entertainment facility is getting ready to swing into action.

The $35 million, 61,000-square-foot facility will open for business on Tuesday, May 14, according to Ryan Hintze, the founder of Iron Tee Golf and owner/operator of Corn Belt Capital. The golf entertainment facility is located at 6909 Iron Tee Way, Bettendorf, near the TBK Bank Sports Complex.

A grand opening ceremony will be at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14. “We will have our arcade, mini golf, restaurant and hitting bays officially open after the ribbon-cutting ceremony,” Mr. Hintze told the QCBJ on Tuesday afternoon. (In addition to the Iron Tee opening, The Plex area is getting set for another new business. A groundbreaking ceremony is set for 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, for the new SpringHill Suites by Marriott at 5235 Competition Drive.)

“We will be accepting walk-ins only for the first month until we get our feet under us, then we will open up for online reservations as time allows,” he added.

Once open, the Iron Tee will be open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on most days. It is open 10 a.m. to midnight on Fridays; 9 a.m. to midnight on Saturdays; and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays, according to the facility’s website.

We’re thrilled to bring top-tier entertainment to our community with the latest technology. Picture this: precision tracking that’ll make your golf game feel like pro play, fun for all ages with a variety of games, and a place where over 1,200 people can gather, eat, drink, and tee off. We’re more than just a golfing destination; we’re a hub for smiles, swings, and good times,” according to the Iron Tee Facebook page.

Mr. Hintze recently gave QCBJ staff members a tour of the new facility. Among the features of the new Iron Tee entertainment facility he showed are:

  • Golf bays: Much of the facility will center around a state-of-the-art, temperature-controlled driving range that will have 58 bays and can have six players per bay. (There will be 14 bays on the first floor, and 22 each on the second and third floors.) The facility also will be equipped with Trackman Technology for golf ball tracking and a variety of interactive target greens. Golf equipment rental is available.
  • Other entertainment: Not a golf fan? The Iron Tee will have many other activities for the family, including a mini golf arcade.
  • Event space: There will be space and bar areas for company events and private parties.
  • Restaurant: The Iron Tee Golf facility will feature a full-service restaurant. Mr. Hintze said his philosophy of food service is to at least start with a somewhat simple menu – perhaps 25 items on the menu – and offer superior service on those items. “Let’s keep it simple and be really good at it,” he added. Also, there will be three bars with a total of 36 beers on tap.
  • Many TVs: There will be more than 160 large-screen TVs throughout Iron Tee. “You won’t miss a game or play,” Mr. Hintze said.
  • Workforce: The Iron Tee will have about 150 employees.

“We’re ready to swing into action and can’t wait to share the joy of the game with you all,” according to a message on the Iron Tee Facebook page.
