Rapidly growing and family-owned Tri-City Electric Co., the third oldest and 24th largest electrical contractor in the nation, today announced the formation of Tri-City Group.
The new group brings together the award-winning family of Tri-City businesses under one brand to more fully reflect its wide breadth of services and capabilities, the newly formed Davenport-based group said in a news release Monday, Oct. 14.
The rebranded Tri-City Group family – formerly known as Tri-City Electric and its affiliated companies – will include:
- Tri-City Electric
- Tri-City Power Testing Solutions
- Tri-City Engineering & Integration
- Tri-City Renewable Energy
- Tri-City Technologies
- Tri-City Drone Services
- Tri-City Ironworks
- Tri-City Fire Protection
- Tri-City Automated Solutions
- Paramount Millwright Services.
In addition, Tri-City also announced today that three companies – Treiber Construction Company, Industrial Steel Erectors (ISE), and B&B Masonry and Restoration – are joining with the fast-growing, award-winning Tri-City Group.
In addition to being ranked as the 24th largest electrical contractor in the nation by Electrical Design, Construction and Maintenance (EC&M), Tri-City captured ninth place on the QCBJ’s Fastest Growing Companies list in 2022. It returned to the QCBJ Fastest Growing list this year along with its Tri-City Ironworks. The latter came in third overall, reporting 249% growth over two years. Tri-City Fire Protection also was a 2024 Fastest Growing honoree, placing fifth overall with 163% growth over the two years.
The individual companies which join the group will maintain their leadership, staff and corporate identities, with the added benefit of support from Tri-City Group. At the same time, the new additions will allow the group to offer its clients more turnkey services, with each bringing a depth of talent and capabilities to the organization, the news release announcing the changes said.
Integrated project solutions
“The formation of Tri-City Group helps us better position our company to present integrated solutions to win projects that are exciting and inspiring for our team, customers, and communities,” Tri-City Group President Doug Palmer said in the release.
“With almost 130 years of integrity, professionalism, and people-first culture under our belt, this allows us to ensure we’re positioned for continued growth as clients look for a cohesive and integrated partner.”
Tri-City has evolved from its roots as an electrical contractor to include low voltage technology solutions, power testing solutions, engineering and integration services, renewable energy services, drone services, structural steel erection, fire protection systems, automated solutions and robotics, and millwright construction services, the release said.
Expanding awareness of Tri-City’s full breadth of capabilities established the organization as a trusted, reliable partner to whom clients can turn for a variety of needs and projects, the release said.
With more than 2,000 employees, Tri-City has proudly contributed to projects in 46 states, two U.S. territories and six countries, the group said. As it has expanded, its dedication to the Quad Cities remains strong, Tri-City Group said, adding that about half of its work is in the Quad Cities region where the company is still headquartered.
The trio of new companies Tri-City Group announced today includes Davenport’s Treiber Construction. It was founded in 1929 and has earned a reputation as the “go-to” concrete contractor for large complex projects, the Tri-City Group release said. Its addition allows Tri-City Group to offer more services to its clients as well as the ability to self-perform concrete work on Tri-City projects around the country.
Larger scale projects
New group member ISE has a reputation for high-quality steel erection services, the release said. Having an additional steel erection company paves the way for two companies to pursue joint ventures on large-scale steel erection projects that neither company could satisfy alone.
B&B Masonry and Restoration provides exceptional masonry and restoration services, the news release said. Its addition to Tri City Group allows its masons and electricians to work better together on projects that involve integrating electrical conduits and trade systems into the masonry walls, enhancing the project for clients and Tri-City.
Stability and consistency across the staffs at each of the businesses will allow customers to work with the teams they know and trust at each company with the added benefit of additional services offered by Tri-City Group’s family of businesses, the release said.
“Joining the Tri-City Group family of businesses represents notable synergies, both in the complementary offerings we can extend to our customers as well as our shared organizational cultures and community roots central to our success,” Treiber Construction President Brad Treiber said in today’s release. “There is a strong cultural alignment as local, generationally family-owned businesses and a shared commitment to the highest-quality projects and excellent service.”
Tri-City’s Mr. Palmer added, “This is an exciting time to be a part of Tri-City Group. Our family of businesses will continue to focus on quality work, reliability, transparency, and personal relationships with our clients, partners, and communities. ‘Confidence Delivered,’ is more than our tagline – it’s our promise of excellence in every project and the trust placed in our now extended capabilities.”
Tri-City Electric Co. was established in 1895 as an electrical contractor and supplier. It is also a top-rated specialty contractor.
