Gilda’s Club offers acupuncture workshop

Gilda’s Club is hosting a free acupuncture workshop from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, April 22, at  Gilda’s Club Quad Cities Davenport Clubhouse at 1351 W. Central Park Ave., Suite 200, Davenport.

The workshop will be presented by Darcie Carlton, who will give an overview of traditional Chinese medicine and how it can support a person with helping relieve cancer and treatment side effects.

She is a board-certified acupuncturist and herbalist licensed in the State of Iowa. She went to school for four years to learn Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. Her training included over 900 hours of clinical practice in addition to classroom instruction. 

Ms. Carlton attended Illinois State University and then lived in Chicago for 15 years. While there, she graduated from Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago/Evanston with a Masters of Science degree in oriental medicine combined with a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition.
