The Adler Theatre, Nederlander National Markets, and the Tony Award-winning musical, ‘Come From Away,’ will partner with River Bend Food Bank to donate $5 from each ticket sold until showtime, Tuesday, April 23.

Use the code RIVERBEND, and $5 will be donated to the River Bend Food Bank. This offer will be available online at Ticketmaster.com or in-person at the Adler Theatre Box Office from Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and two hours prior to curtain on the weekends.

“For 42 years River Bend has been in our community providing food to our hungry neighbors,” River Bend Chief Development Officer Jenny Colvin said in a news release. “For 41 of those years that food came from the generosity of our food suppliers, grocery stores, convenience stores, and our community. In the past 18 months the food bank world has been turned upside down. While we are still grateful to receive a tremendous amount of food donations, those donations have declined by over 30% while the need in our community has increased by 29%.”

According to the release, River Bend has spent $1.2 million dollars on food and during this fiscal year and projects to spend $3.4 million this year.

“We do not see these trends ending anytime soon,” Ms. Colvin added. “The generosity from the Adler Theatre and Come From Away … to support our mission could not have come at a better time. Your financial gift will be used to purchase food to feed our guests experiencing food insecurities.”

“We look forward to our partnership with River Bend Food Bank and KWQC for ‘Come From Away,’” Rick Palmer, the Adler’s general manager, said in the release. “A community coming together to help those in need is the theme to this Broadway musical. Let’s pay it forward and have a great evening of entertainment as we strive to do the same.”

Lance Sadlek, the Adler’s executive director, added: “In a unique and very special way you can give to this very noble community organization who help so many.”

“The River Bend Food Bank provides such a critical service right now,” said Micah McDade, Regional Marketing Director for Nederlander National Markets. “Pairing this fund-raising opportunity with Come From Away, a show about a community coming together to help thousands of stranded airline passengers in the wake of 9/11, is a natural partnership.”
