Christian Care Heart for the Homeless

There are just days left before the Monday, Feb. 5, deadline to buy tickets for Christian Care’s 11th annual Have a Heart for the Homeless Luncheon.

The organization, which provides safe shelter, support and resources to empower the homeless to make positive changes in every aspect of their lives, invites the Quad Cities to the luncheon on Saturday, Feb. 10, at Bally’s Quad Cities Casino & Hotel, 777 Bally Boulevard, Rock Island.

Doors will open at 11:15 a.m. with lunch beginning at noon. Tickets are $35 each or $270 for a table of eight. Last year’s event sold out, so purchase your tickets today online at christiancare cqc.org.

Guest Speaker De’Andre Robinson, Christian Care’s former street outreach worker, will offer an eye-opening view of people living unsheltered and how to help meet their immediate needs, the organization said in a news release. Mr. Robinson continues to interact with people who live on the street as the first operations manager for the Rock Island Downtown Alliance.

“The streets were never meant to be a home and ending homelessness will never be easy, but our commitment is strong,” supporters say. “Christian Care provides shelter and supportive services for homeless men, women, and women with children. Help us impact their lives by participating in this fun and informative event.”

All proceeds will benefit people experiencing homelessness.

The organization thanks the event’s Platinum Sponsors: Royal Neighbors of America Chapter 200035, and Bally’s Quad Cities Casino & Hotel.
