The new and updated Dick’s House of Sports at 5511 Elmore Ave., Davenport, will reopen Friday morning, July 21.
The rebranded Dick’s Sporting Goods store, located near the Walmart store, has been closed for a few months as it underwent renovation work. (Dick’s had a temporary location at NorthPark Mall, 320 W. Kimberly Road, Davenport)
To celebrate the opening of the rebranded Dick’s House of Sports store, there will be a series of celebrations, autograph signings, games and many special events.
Some of the events and giveaways will include autograph signing sessions by former NFL player Devin Hester, wrestling champion Spencer Lee, and Shawn Johnson East, former gymnast and 2008 Olympic gold medalist.
Athletes will only sign items purchased in store or the complimentary player cards provided by the store; 200 wristbands will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Wristbands are required to attend the appearance and receive an autograph.
Here is a schedule of events for the new Dick’s House of Sportnis on Friday and Saturday, July 21-22.
- A ribbon-cutting ceremony 8:45 a.m. Friday.
- Devin Hester autograph signing from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Store hours Friday and Saturday are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Spencer Lee autograph signing noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday
- Shawn Johnson East autograph signing 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
