
CLINTON, Iowa – The 41st annual Clinton Bald Eagle Watch will feature several events on Saturday, Feb. 8.
They will be presented by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Clinton Community College, Clinton Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Stewards of the Upper Mississippi River Refuge.
Educational programs and environmental exhibits will be hosted indoors at Clinton Community College, 1000 Lincoln Blvd., Clinton. Outdoor eagle viewing will be held at Lock and Dam 13 in Fulton, Illinois, off Highway 84 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. All activities are free and open to the public.
Indoor exhibits, including a live bald eagle, other birds of prey, conservations groups and other presenters will be available at the college from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with programs schedules as follows:
- 9:30 a.m. – Welcome to Eagle Watch, Kevin Zidarich (USACE) and Jacquelynn Albrecht (USFWS).
- 10 a.m. – Habitat Restoration and Enhancement Program – Ed Britton, USFWS.
- 11 a.m. – Live Birds of Prey Program – Raptor Advocacy Rehabilitation and Education.
- Noon – Live Birds of Prey Program – Wings and Talons.
- 1 p.m. – “Who Lives with Eagles?” – David Stokes, naturalist, humorist and educator.
Food and refreshments will be available for purchase at the indoor location. Light refreshments will be available for free, while supplies last, at the outdoor location. A warming area will also be available at the outdoor location.
