CASI reopens Jane’s Place after flooding incident

CASI center for active seniors

As CASI continues to recover from a flooding caused by a break in its fire suppression sprinkler system, the center announced that its adult day care facility, Jane’s Place, is reopening today, Jan. 29.

Meanwhile, the Center for Active Seniors, Inc. hopes its community center will re-open for classes and activities next week.

The community center and Jane’s Place were closed after the break in the sprinklers cause flooding in the Davenport facility on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

“The good news is there will be no long-term damage,” the organization said in an email.

It also thanked these crews for their quick actions: the Davenport Fire Department for rapidly stemming the floor of water; CASI staff for immediately beginning cleanup; and CASI’s restoration service for its quick arrival and work to remove standing water and dry out areas inundated by water.

CASI predicts the drying process and other repairs and cleaning will be completed in a matter of days. Watch for updates on CASI’s website and Facebook page.
