The new Bubba’s 33 restaurant in Davenport has its large-screen TVs in place, interior fixtures set up, the bar area is almost complete and employees are now being hired.
If all goes according to schedule, the restaurant at 4005 E. 53rd St. will open for business on Monday, July 27.
Some of the items expected to be on Bubba’s 33 menu include: grilled ribeye dinners, Bubba’s lasagna, pork tenderloin sandwiches, monte cristo sandwiches, burgers, wings, chicken tenders, fried chicken sandwiches and much more.

The casual dining family restaurant features upbeat music, music videos, and for sports fans, wall-to-wall TVs. An expansive menu includes made-from-scratch, hand-stretched stone-baked pizza, fresh, never frozen big bold burgers, a signature half-pound burger, fresh wings, hand-breaded tenders, lasagna and marinated ribeye.
Bubba’s 33 is an affiliate of Texas Roadhouse, and this will be its first Iowa location.
“We can’t wait to bring Bubba’s 33 to Iowa,” said Doug Drens, regional director of real estate at Texas Roadhouse, last year when it was announced Bubba’s 33 was coming to the region. “Davenport’s energy and growth made it the perfect place for our next location, and we’re excited to serve up scratch-made food for all in the Quad Cities.”
On Monday, June 8, work trucks were still in front of the new restaurant, getting a variety of big and little jobs done inside the building. An employee agreed to give the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal a quick tour of the building. At that time, much of the interior appeared to be set up with large-screen TVs on the walls, booths in place, and many rustic decorative touches. One of those decorative features is a seat in the front waiting area. That seat looks like the back of a vintage car with red, white and blue, flag-like cushions and a specialized Iowa license plate reading BUBBA’s 33.
In addition to getting the restaurant ready for its opening day, Bubba’s 33 officials are also looking to hire a staff of 200. Those employees include full- and part-time positions, including an office manager/admin, local store marketer, pizza makers, cooks, meat cutters, hosts, servers, bartenders, dishwashers, and server assistants.
Those interested in employment can apply directly to Davenport opportunities at: bubbas33.com/careers. The restaurant is currently accepting applications online and conducting interviews onsite at the restaurant Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
In fact, on Monday, Bubba’s officials told the QCBJ that they had several people coming in to interview for jobs.
The new location is the 60th Bubba’s 33 in the nation. The first Bubba’s 33, which opened in 2013 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, was recognized as Best New Restaurant and Best Sports Restaurant by the Fayetteville Observer.
Bubba’s 33, founded by Kent Taylor, founder of Texas Roadhouse, serves up a variety of menu options.
The name of the restaurant comes from “Bubba” – Mr. Taylor’s after-hours alter ego; and “33,” a nod to the year 1933 – the year prohibition ended.
