MUSCATINE, Iowa – Dr. Brad Bark, the president & CEO of the Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GMCCI), has graduated from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organization Management (IOM).

Dr. Bark, who also is the City of Muscatine’s mayor, completed 96 credit hours in advanced coursework to earn the prestigious IOM Graduate Recognition, the city and GMCCI announced recently in a joint news release.

He successfully completed the nonprofit and organizational management coursework – training that strengthens Muscatine’s business community and elevates the region’s leadership capacity.

The IOM credential is earned through the multi‑year program, which includes instruction in leadership, advocacy, finance, membership development, and strategic organizational management. Participants also earn credits toward the Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) and Certified Association Executive (CAE) certifications.

Nearly 1,000 professionals from across the country attend the Institute annually.

“Institute graduates are recognized across the country as leaders in their industries and organizations,” Raymond P. Towle, IOM, CAE, vice president of the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for Organization Management, said in the release issued on Thursday, June 4.

“These individuals have the knowledge, skills, and dedication necessary to achieve professional and organizational success in the dynamic association and chamber industries,” he added.

The Institute program, founded in 1921, has educated tens of thousands of chamber, association, and nonprofit leaders nationwide. Its curriculum spans four week-long sessions hosted at university campuses across the country, combining required courses with electives that help leaders build stronger, more effective organizations.
