A community ribbon-cutting ceremony planned this weekend at Black Hawk College in Moline has been postponed due to concerns over rainy weather.

A ceremony for the BHC Athletic Complex at the college’s Quad Cities campus, 6600 34th Ave., Moline, had been scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14. The Athletic Complex is south of 34th Avenue near Building 3.

The ribbon-cutting event now will be held in the spring, college officials said in a news release Wednesday, Oct. 11.

The new $12.1 million complex, first announced in January, features baseball and softball fields, and a separate structure to house restrooms and a concession booth. The ceremony was scheduled to include tours of the turf and lighted fields.
