The public is invited to Black Hawk College Quad-Cities Campus on Saturday, Sept. 14, for the grand openings of the state-of-the-art academic and athletic facilities in Moline.
There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tours, live music, a free lunch and the grand opening of the BHC Athletic Complex. It features new baseball, softball and soccer fields.
Visitors also can learn more about what Black Hawk College has to offer at Experience BHC from 9-11 a.m. There they can ask questions of the college recruiters and take a self-guided tour of campus. Â
Prospective students also can see demonstrations in the biology, chemistry and physics labs.
The grand opening celebration schedule includes:
Building 3:
- Tours of Building 3 from 9-11 a.m.
- Ribbon-cutting ceremony – 10 a.m. outside Building 3 by the logo.
- Live music by the BHC Jazz Ensemble – 10:30-11:15 a.m. in Building 3 lobby.
- Complimentary lunch and ice cream – 11 a.m. to noon at the Athletic Complex concession stand. Sponsored by Russell and DKA.
BHC Athletic Complex
- National Anthem – noon.
BHC Softball Alumni Game
- First pitch by BHC Trustee Kim Goodley at 12:05 p.m.
 BHC Baseball Alumni Game
- First pitch by BHC Trustee Christian Jackson – 12:10 p.m.
BHC Men’s and Women’s Soccer Skills Competition
- Soccer field first kick by Maria Ontiveros, corporate community liaison of Group O, Milan, and co-founder of Mercado on Fifth in Moline – 12:15 p.m.
Visitors should park in Lot 3 off 34th Avenue to access Building 3 and the BHC Athletic Complex.Â
