Bettendorf Public Works Department and Parks & Recreation Department employees Jason Manfull and Isaac Jacobs were honored by the Iowa Parks and Recreation Association at the annual IPRA Best of the Best Banquet in Des Moines on Wednesday, March 27.

Manfull takes Frame Award

Mr. Manfull, the parks maintenance supervisor, received the T. Ray Frame Park Maintenance Award.

It is awarded to an outstanding Parks and Recreation Department maintenance person  who demonstrated a high level of skill in his/her work. The winner also goes beyond what would be considered adequate or expected in the position, and shows devotion on and off the job.

“Congratulations to Jason on this well-deserved honor,” Bettendorf Public Works Director Brian Schmidt said in a news release. “This recognition validates his passion, commitment, and hard work to his profession. I’m proud to have such an outstanding person leading a team of dedicated staff in maintaining our parks, playgrounds, and recreational areas into excellent shape around our community.”

Jacobs top Young Professional

Mr. Jacobs is the Bettendorf Parks & Recreation coordinator. He received the Dr. Carol Hanson Young Professional Award. It is given to a professional who has exemplified commitment and outstanding service to the leisure services profession and IPRA.

“Isaac is a huge asset to the Parks & Recreation Department,” said Kim Kidwell, the city’s culture and recreation director. “He is constantly looking for ways to improve programs and experiences. Isaac is here for the kids and is a compassionate, quiet leader – never expecting recognition because he feels he is just ‘doing his job.’ I am so proud of him and this IPRA honor is well deserved.”
