Beth Grabin named new CFO of Ascentra

Beth Grabin has been named to Ascentra Credit Union’s senior management team as chief financial officer.

She brings to the post 22 years of finance and accounting experience through positions held with organizations throughout Western Illinois and Eastern Iowa. Ms. Grabin filled the credit union’s CFO position recently held by Ascentra’s President and CEO Linda Andry. Ms. Andry was Ascentra’s CFO for 15 years before taking the helm after the death of then-President and CEO Dale Owen in November 2020.

Ms. Grabin, a Quad Cities native, began her 22-year career in the financial services industry as a school-to-work intern in 2000, a company news release said. She grew into progressive roles including as risk management associate, controller, director of financial reporting, chief accounting officer and chief financial officer. She specializes in regulatory and other financial reporting.

She serves on the board of Lead(her), where she also leads a committee and serves as a mentor for the organization that fuels career and community engagement for women in the workforce. She is treasurer of the Argrow’s House of Healing and Hope board, a sustaining member of the Junior League of the Quad Cities, and volunteer coordinator for the MoTown Mile Race and Festival.

“Beth not only brings valued financial and accounting experience to the table, but she also embodies the spirit of the credit union movement through her dedication to serving others,” Ms. Andry said in the release.

Ms. Grabin is a graduate of United Township High School, East Moline. She received her Bachelor’s in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University in 2006 and earned her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in 2011.
