MILAN – Employees at a major employer in this community now have a new health clinic at their disposal.
That clinic, which began operations on Monday, Aug. 5, offers free medical services for XPAC employees, and is located at the company headquarters at 525 10th Ave. East.
“We wanted to do something for our employees. … This is an excellent benefit for them,” said Denise Kelly, director of human resources at XPAC, during a Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony for the health clinic.
That event attracted about 40 people from the business community to celebrate the clinic’s opening. Some facts about the new clinic include:
- The health clinic is a partnership between XPAC and the Genesis Health System.
- It is staffed by a nurse practitioner and medical assistant with the oversight and supervision of a Genesis staff physician.
- The clinic will provide acute care, wellness education, and occupational health services at no cost to employees. XPAC employees can use the clinic for health issues and concerns for work and non-work related issues. Employees are not required to change doctors to use the clinic.
- The facilities in the new clinic include a reception area, examination room and treatment room.
- XPAC employees can see health care professionals at the clinic by making an appointment through their work supervisor. Also, walk-in patients will be seen. In fact, on Monday morning, clinic workers saw their first patient – an XPAC employee with an injury.
