One of those new plants is at 8360 Research Drive in northern Davenport. That facility, in a new 100,000-square-foot building, started operations last October. On Tuesday, June 18, it received an official welcome to the community with a Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony that attracted more than 30 people from the business community.“I’m very happy with the business-friendly atmosphere. … This building is great,” said Robert Brock, CEO of Ranews Companies, during Tuesday’s brief ceremony that included a tour of the Davenport facility. The location has about 55 employees and is currently fully staffed, “but we are always looking for good people,” said Pete Stonska, production manager of the Ranews Companies plant in Davenport. (Go here to see employment opportunities with the company.)While giving a tour to the business community on Tuesday, Mr. Brock said the Davenport company paints many types and shapes of parts, vehicles, commercial equipment and machinery. Those parts include items that are about one-foot long up to 12-feet long or bigger, he added. The company’s new building in northern Davenport has plenty of room to get all those painting jobs done. Plus, the company CEO is a big fan of its location – just off Interstate 80 – where many drivers can see the building and the company’s big sign out front.“I love the free marketing we get as people drive by and see our sign,” Mr. Brock added. When people get a look at the new Ranews Companies building off I-80, they will be seeing double. A second business building, with a similar exterior look, is in the works next door to the Ranews facility. Mr. Stonska said that the second building has about 60,000 square feet, but is not owned or used by Ranews. Other business clients will be using that second building.During Tuesday’s ceremony, Christine Caves, vice president of business and economic growth for the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce, welcomed Ranews to the community. She added a top question company officials should remember when thinking about the Chamber and business community is this: “What can we do to support your business?”“Thank you for all the support,” said Mr. Brock during Tuesday’s ceremonies. Here is some information on Ranew Companies:
