WIU recruits small businesses for more on-campus food options

Western Illinois University-Quad Cities and the on-campus Illinois Small Business Development Center are inviting area small businesses to take advantage of available resources and showcase food options on campus.

The project will simultaneously provide more food options to students and staff on campus while also supporting local businesses throughout the area. Through the project, small-business owners may utilize an indoor kitchenette and serving window in the Riverfront Hall Atrium, food truck parking with outdoor dining areas, indoor tables to connect with the WIU community, and the chance to take advantage of the popular Riverfront Hall and its built-in population of potential customers who come with it, according to a flyer from WIU.

“Western has the mission to support our local business community to provide opportunities for our students and support local business growth,” said WIU-QC Student Services Director Curtis Williams in a news release. “Only together can we improve the lives of all that live in the Quad Cities area.”

The Illinois Small Business Development Center also offers free professional guidance and resources.
