Wilson, Rosner receive WIU-QC Core Value Awards

WQPT Director of Development Terry Wilson and Western Illinois University Quad Cities Spaces Manager Thomas Oliver Rosner were recently honored with the WIU QC’s prestigious Core Values Awards, a WIU news release said.

Mr. Wilson – a leader at public television station WQPT, a self-funded department at WIU-QC – received the 2024 WIU-QC Core Values Award for Social Responsibility.

That award is defined by WIU as “honoring an individual who demonstrates a commitment to equity, social justice and diversity, while maintaining the highest standards of integrity in their work with others.” WIU said in the release the university aims to serve as a resource and catalyst for economic, educational, cultural, environmental and community development within the Quad Cities region and beyond.

Mr. Rosner was chosen as the recipient of the WIU-QC Core Values Award for Personal Growth. That award is defined by WIU as recognizing an individual who embodies the development of the whole person. WIU said in he release that it is dedicated to providing opportunities for personal growth in an environment that fosters wellness, ethical decision-making and personal responsibility.

Award-winners were selected by the 2023-2024 Core Values selection committee. Members include: Bret Bogenschneider, Quad Cities Faculty Council; Cameron Ruiz, Council of Administrative Personnel; and Thomas Oliver Rosner, Civil Service Employees Council.

Nominations are open

That committee is convened when nominations are received by the Quad Cities Operations and Administration.

“At WIU-QC, our annual Core Value Awards celebrate our exceptional employees’ dedication, innovation and excellence. These individuals exemplify our commitment to integrity, educational quality and community engagement,” WIU-QC Executive Director of Outreach and QC Campus Operations Audrey Adamson said in the release.

“This year’s recipients have gone above and beyond in their roles, demonstrating outstanding leadership, unwavering passion and an enduring commitment to the university’s mission,” she added.

“Their hard work and dedication inspire us all and we are proud to honor Terry and Thomas for their significant contributions to the WIU-QC community.”
