Wellmark offers new ACA healthcare options for Iowans

DES MOINES, Iowa – Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield is introducing new and more convenient ways to shop for 2025 individual and family plans on the Health Insurance Marketplace under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Wellmark will help shoppers find the best plan for their needs, with individual and family plans available in all 99 Iowa counties.

For the 2025 plan year, Iowans can now shop for individual and family coverage via Wellmark telesales agents or through the new Wellmark.com/ShopIA platform. Shoppers can also continue to work with a local, certified Wellmark agent.

“It’s now even easier for Iowans to shop and enroll in Wellmark individual and family plans,”  Dave Daniel, vice president for sales and retention, said in a news release. “Whether you want the personal experience of working with your local agent, Wellmark telesales experts or the ease of comparing plans through our new Wellmark.com shopping experience, we’re ready to help you understand your options and find a plan that best fits your budget and health needs.”

Wellmark members benefit from low-cost premiums, low co-pays, $0 virtual care and preventive care visits, emergency care and prescription coverage, the insurer said. Wellmark members can choose from over 32,000 Iowa providers in its HMO network.
