A hiring event is set for 12:30-3 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16, to fill a number of jobs available at the U.S. Penitentiary in Thomson, Illinois.
The recruiting event, which is open to the public, will be held at IowaWORKS, 1801A E. Kimberly Road, Davenport.
The Thomson prison is looking to hire correctional officers as well as a registered nurse, medical officer, cook supervisor and treatment specialist. The U.S. Penitentiary Thomson, formerly known as Thomson Correctional Center, is a high-security federal prison. It spans about 146 acres and is comprised of 15 buildings.
