The Landing Ice Rink, 2255 Middle Road, Bettendorf, will open for the season (weather permitting) at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, according to the City of Bettendorf.

Over the past month, the Bettendorf Parks & Recreation Department has been busy training staff, sharpening skates, adding new concession items and creating ice for The Landing.

The facility has more than 11,000 square feet of  permanent outdoor ice rink with climate-controlled restrooms, concessions, and warming areas as well as outdoor gas firepits.

“Last winter we opened The Landing Ice Rink for its inaugural winter season and saw an overwhelming response to this new attraction,” John Byrnes, Bettendorf’s parks & recreation director, said in a news release.

In all, he said “16,663 skaters took the ice throughout the winter months last season, and this season we expect that number to grow as we continue to enhance the experience at The Landing Ice Rink. There is something for the whole family to enjoy at this unique winter experience offering the only outdoor ice rink in the Quad Cities.”

The 2025-26 season will kick off Dec. 5  with a tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. Afterwards, the rink will open to all skaters.
