St. Ambrose University, Davenport, will host an Innovation Summit that will focus on “reimaging the learning ecosystem” on Thursday, April 13.

The summit, which has the theme “Learning to Work and Working to Learn,” is scheduled for 8-10:30 a.m. in the Rogalski Center on the St. Ambrose campus. Registration is required. To register, visit here.

The event will start with registration and a light breakfast at 7:30 a.m. The program will start at 8 a.m., and there will be an exclusive workforce development announcement at 10 a.m.

This year, we will reimagine the learning ecosystem. The event will focus on how to foster a growth mindset around learning that is developed in the classroom and built for the workplace,” according to summit details on the St. Ambrose website.

“We invite new perspectives as we discern what attributes contribute to and define this attitude towards learning. What attracts people to engage in workplace learning? When do we know we have created a culture where all employees have learning plans, one in which learning is embedded into performance?”

The summit promises to answer these questions and the college aims to redesign the future relationship between work and education.

At the first summit, held last year, more than 120 business leaders from across the Quad Cities and throughout the Midwest came together to identify new approaches and teaching practices that will best prepare SAU students for the next generation of work.

“You are here to co-create the future with us. … Nothing is out of bounds; get creative,” St. Ambrose University President Amy Novak told the crowd at the 2022 event.

Some of the topics and questions at last year’s event included:  How do we understand the current and emerging needs of the labor force of the future?  How do we equip students for those realities?  How do we reshape the models of higher education in collaboration with business to build a stronger, more prepared workforce?
