Slumberland Furniture is collaborating with the Bethany for Children and Families organization to provide gifts of bed sets to dozens this holiday season through its annual “Making Homes for the Holidays Program.”

The furniture store, located in both Davenport, and Moline, is donating 40 twin mattresses, frames, and box springs to Bethany. The items will be loaded into a truck at Slumberland’s Davenport location, 616 E Kimberly Road, on Friday, Dec. 15.

“It’s a great feeling to be able to give the gift of a good night’s Sleep,” said Slumberland owner Lee Kerr, who added that this is the 15th year of the partnership.

Christina McNamara-Schmidt, director of development and communication for Bethany, said: “This generous gift will warm the hearts and homes of 40 people in the Quad Cities this holiday season. Bethany will work with agency caseworkers to distribute the beds to clients in our homeless and child welfare programs.”

Founded in 1899, Bethany for Children & Families is a non-profit child welfare, mental health, community education, and social services provider for children and families in western Illinois and eastern Iowa. Offering 26 programs and services, Bethany serves more than 12,000 children and families annually.
