Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors has been ranked once again as the top largest independent real estate company in Iowa by RealTrends magazine, the Davenport-based firm announced.
The latest RealTrends 500 report, based on 2023 statistics, ranked the Top 500 real estate companies in the country according to the number of residential transactions and sales volume. Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors ranks 133rd nationally based on 4,328 transactions closed. RealTrends 500 ranks companies on residential transactions only.
Ruhl&Ruhl, which sells homes across eastern Iowa, northwestern Illinois and southwest Wisconsin, reported $971,800,407 in sales volume in 2023. Its 4,328 transactions were down 20% from its 5,194 transactions in 2022.
Two of its competitors, Mel Foster Co. in the Quad Cities and Skogman Realty in Cedar Rapids/Iowa City, also were ranked by RealTrends. Mel Foster ranked 418th with 1,782 transactions in 2023, which was a 28% decline from the 2,289 transactions it had in 2022. Its 2023 sales volume was $400,646,469. Skogman ranked 296th with 2,228 transactions in 2023 – down 20% from 2,676 transactions in 2022 – and $612,219,396 in sales volume in 2023.

In a news release, Ruhl&Ruhl said that when farm, land and commercial transactions are included, Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors closed 4,390 sides in 2023. On average, its agents closed 13.8 transactions in 2023.

Ruhl&Ruhl also released these sales statistics from 2023:
- NAI Ruhl Commercial Company, a joint venture with Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors, sold $91 million in sales volume in 2023. It has 16 commercial agents.
- NAI Ruhl Property Management manages 1.808 million square feet of space, 405 HOA units, and 80 acres of land.
- Ruhl Mortgage, also a joint venture, closed $133,350,976 in loan volume in 2023, which was generated from 614 loans.
Family-owned company since 1862, Ruhl&Ruhl has grown to 320 sales associates, 61 employees, and 10 offices across eastern Iowa, northwestern Illinois and southwest Wisconsin.
