The City of Rock Island is seeking applicants interested in serving on the newly-created Community Development Commission.

There are nine positions open for three-year terms each. Commission members shall be broadly representative of nonprofits and agencies focused on helping low-to-moderate income residents. 

At least three members shall live in census tracts with at least 51% low-to-moderate income residents as defined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The Community Development Commission is an advisory body that will assist the city in the development and operation of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)

programs. It will be responsible for soliciting community input and assisting in

the development of plans. It also will serve as a liaison between the city and other agencies and nonprofits.

The commission will meet monthly at Rock Island City Hall,1528 Third Ave.
