With the floodwaters that canceled July 4 fireworks long gone, the rescheduled Red, White and Boom! will make an appearance at 9:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7, in downtown Davenport and Rock Island.Â
Fireworks will be shot from two barges in the middle of the Mississippi River in sync to music broadcast on 97X.Â
The evening will include free, family-friendly activities in LeClaire Park in Davenport and Schwiebert Riverfront Park in Rock Island. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Spectators should remember to bring a blanket or lawn chairs. Here’s a schedule of Red, White and Boom activities on Sept. 7:
Davenport schedule
- Free live music, 5:30–9 p.m., LeClaire Park Bandshell. Back by popular demand, Identity Crisis will be jamming on the Bandshell stage. This classic rock band covers all of your favorites.Â
- Food vendors will fill Beiderbecke Drive from 5:30-9 p.m. Enjoy tasty treats from various food vendors including BBQ, ice cream, energy drinks and more.
- Kids Zone Activities, 5:30-8:30 p.m., LeClaire Park. Enjoy a full lineup of free activities to keep children entertained before the fireworks start. Â
- Quad Cities River Bandits Vs. the Beloit Sky Carp, 6 p.m., Modern Woodmen Park. Buy tickets for the River Bandits game and afterwards enjoy the fireworks from your seats.Â
Rock Island schedule
- Food vendors, beginning at 5 p.m., Schwiebert Riverfront Park. Â
- Live music, 6–9 p.m., Schwiebert Riverfront Park Stage. Groove to the beats of Corporate Rock as they take the stage playing all your favorites from throughout the decades. Â
- Kids Zone Activities, 6–8:30 p.m., Schwiebert Riverfront Park. Kids can unleash their creativity with face painting, marvel at balloon artists; creations and explore the playground.
In Davenport, parking will be free from 4–11 p.m. in downtown city parking ramps (Redstone, RiverCenter and Harrison Street). In Rock Island, parking is free on the street and in the city parking lots.  Â
