The rising Mississippi River and the potential for flooding have forced a postponement of the Quad Cities’ annual 4th of July fireworks show, Red White & Boom.Â
In a post on the event website, the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce announced today, June 25, that the Red White and Boom! Event and fireworks display is being postponed from its July 3 date. The event – held annually in downtown Davenport and Rock Island – will be rescheduled and a new date is pending.Â
The annual fireworks display draws thousands to the two downtowns as well as other viewing spots to watch the excitement in the skies and over the Mississippi River.Â
