Oertel Metal Works continues to grow, make new products, hire employees and bring in awards.

The metal fabrication company, located at 9104 N. Zenith Ave., Davenport, is part of the McCarty-Bush Corp. family of companies.

In the past few months, here are the new developments at the company:

  • Oertel was named one of the Fastest Growing Companies by the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal.
  • In addition to its location in northern Davenport, the company is now operating out of a 15,000-square-foot rental space in downtown Davenport. This location provides high bay space with crane coverage throughout the space as well as a more optimal space for its large weld and assembly projects.
  • The new device called the Claw Lid Lifter transitioned from a prototype product to a production product during the last year. The lifter is a mechanical device used to handle, lift and place fiberglass barge covers.
  • The company transitioned to a new planning system to better manage business. After nearly a year of planning and transition, it went live Oct 1.

Oertel’s growth and solid work were recently honored by the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce. During that group’s annual meeting, Oertel was honored as the chamber’s 2024 “Business of the Year.”

“We’ve seen a lot of change over the last 24 months. Our team has grown and persevered in a way I’m proud of every day and I credit this incredible recognition to each of them,” Brian Kzryaniak, company president, said after receiving the award.

“Rapid growth brings its own set of challenges, and this award is not just a recognition of our success but a moment to celebrate and reflect on what we’ve achieved together. It’s a well-earned honor that highlights the resilience and commitment of our entire team,” he added.
