‘QC, That’s Where’ there’s a museum for everyone

Visit Quad Cities and 16 area museums are teaming up this year to provide free and reduced admission as well as other deals as part of this year’s QC Museum Week.

Also, for the first time this year, museums-goers can pick up a Museum Week Passport at any participating museum during the June 11-18 QC Museum Week event.

All week several museums throughout the Quad Cities region will welcome visitors with activities, new exhibits, discounted admissions, tours, special programs and more. Full details can be found here

Each museum will have Museum Week Passports on hand to pick up. Visitors who get the passport stamped at three or more museums during the week will be able to drop it in a box at the final museum they visit. Three lucky winners will receive gift baskets filled with goodies, tickets, memberships and two vouchers for free admission to the Beyond Van Gogh Exhibit at the RiverCenter in downtown Davenport, Visit Quad Cities said in a news release.

“This is the eighth year for Quad Cities Museum Week, and the event continues to grow as more people participate in this annual event to celebrate our cultural assets in the QC,” according to Charlotte Doehler-Morrison, Visit Quad Cities’ vice president of marketing of communications.

“Sixteen museums are participating this year, and each of our museums offers something completely different to appeal to various audiences and ages,” she added. “We invite people to get out, explore with family and friends, and discover new stories, experiences and adventures.”

Quad Cities’ museums offer adventures, discovery and hours of fun, and there is a museum in the QC to meet everyone’s interests, from art, science and technology, to local, national and world history, Visit Quad Cities said. There are exhibits and stories just waiting to be discovered, Visit Quad Cities says.

Museum Week was launched in 2015 through a partnership between Visit Quad Cities and area museums. The event celebrates the wealth of museums in the Quad Cities bi-state region, creating greater awareness of what each offers, and why they are essential to the quality of life in the community.

Visit Quad Cities also offers a free QC Family Pass that is good throughout the year for many attractions in the QC. Enjoy special discounts right from the convenience of your mobile device.
