QC food drive celebrates Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy

Martin Luther King Jr. Center Food Drive Arc of the Quad Cities

The Arc of the Quad Cities Area – in partnership with the Quad Cities Disabilities Awareness Coalition – is celebrating Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy with a two-week food drive.

Quad Citians are invited to donate non-perishable food items beginning Tuesday, May 7 and running until Tuesday, May 21, at locations across the region.

Participants include all the Quad Cities and surrounding area Hy-Vee stores, area libraries, GiGi’s Playhouse, Rock Island and Davenport’s parks and recreation locations, Hand in Hand, Individual Advocacy Group, Empowering Abilities, QC Flex and The Arc. Look for food donation boxes at participating locations.

The food drive’s goal is to support individuals with disabilities to give back to their community while also addressing food insecurity.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, the food drive addresses food insecurity and showcases the impact of inclusive volunteering. For more information, including a full list of donation locations, visit this link.
