Davenport-area farmer Robb Ewoldt was recently elected to the new executive committee of the United Soybean Board.
The board’s 77 volunteer farmer-leaders work on behalf of all U.S. soybean farmers to achieve maximum value for their soy checkoff investments. These volunteers create value by investing in research, education, and promotion with the vision to deliver sustainable soy solutions to every life, every day, across the three priority areas of Infrastructure & Connectivity, Health & Nutrition, and Innovation & Technology, the organization said in a news release.
Mr. Ewoldt grows soybeans, corn, alfalfa and cereal rye. He also has hog finishing and cow/calf operations. In his free time, he runs his own livestock transportation company. He also serves on the Iowa Soybean Association (ISB) and the Iowa Farm Bureau. Mr. Ewoldt served as president of the ISB.
The area farmer began farming full-time in 1996 after attending Iowa State University, Ames.
Mr. Ewoldt and his wife, Jennifer, have been awarded numerous ag-related honors over the years. For instance, they received the 2020 ISA Advocate for Iowa Agriculture Award, presented by Bayer CropScience, for their efforts in telling the story of modern agriculture.
Also, with their sons, Alex and Isaac, the Ewoldts host an annual “Picnic in the Pasture” for hundreds of people to learn more about life on the farm.
